Backwoods Dog

WARRANTY POLICY

1-Year Limited Warranty

We take pride in the craftsmanship and durability of our products. Each item is handmade in our studio in Ontario, Canada with attention to detail and quality control. We try our best to make sure every product is as perfect as it can be when it leaves our studio, but we cannot predict or control the malfunction of a component. We back our products with a 1-Year limited warranty against manufacturer defects or malfunction of material or hardware components.

We review and have the right to accept or deny a warranty claim on a case-by-case basis. Please send us a picture, details, along with the order # or receipt of purchase via email at: backwoodsdogstore@gmail.com if you experience an issue with a Backwoods Dog product.

The following scenarios are covered by our 1-Year Limited Warranty:

  • Buckle malfunctions (plastic or metal)
  • Snap hooks that malfunction due to spring failure
  • Rivet failure, missing caps
  • Cracking of material (without the use of harsh chemicals, flea & tick treatment, sun damage)
  • If you have experienced an issue that we have not listed here, that you feel is a manufacturer warranty claim please contact us at: backwoodsdogstore@gmail.com

The following are NOT covered under our 1-Year Limited Warranty

  • Normal wear and tear of product, such as stains, scratches, colour changes, stretching at buckle holes, chips, or gauges in the material. Damage caused by product dragging over rough surfaces, being left in the sun, chemical damage, or misuse of product.
  • Chewing or cuts. While BioThane webbing is very strong and durable, it is not meant to hold up to your dog chewing or sharp objects cutting the material. BioThane is NOT chew-proof.
  • Rust. We offer a stainless-steel hardware upgrade on most our products, as well as a solid brass hardware upgrade, while brass might oxidize over time, you shouldn’t experience issues with rust. Nickel-plated and black powder-coated products may experience rust over time due to exposure to elements and water. Cases of extreme rust may be caused by harsh chemicals and long-term water exposure, so please follow our care instructions when cleaning our products.
