🔁 Return & Exchange Policy

We’re a small Canadian business crafting gear built to last. While we want you to love your purchase, we’ve had to establish clear and sustainable policies to protect our team and processes. Returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

✨ Returns

  • Returns must be requested within 30 days of delivery.
  • Items must be unused, unwashed, and in original condition 
  • Custom or personalized gear is final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. 
  • If accepted, return shipping is the customer's responsibility. Once we receive and inspect your item, we’ll issue a refund for the product (minus shipping and a 20% restocking fee if applicable).

🔄 Exchanges

  • If you'd like to exchange an item for a different size or colour:
  1. Contact us within 30 days of delivery.
  2. You are responsible for the return shipping of the original item.
  3. Once your new gear is built, we will email you an invoice for the cost to ship the exchange back to you.
  4. Once that’s paid and we have received the original item back (in new, unused condition), your new item ships!

🚫 Changing or Canceling an Order

Orders cannot be modified once they have shipped. However, if your order has not yet been processed or made, you may request a change or cancellation by emailing us at backwoodsdogstore@gmail.com as soon as possible.

Please note:
All of our gear is made to order, often within hours of purchase. If your item has already been built or packed, we may be unable to cancel or alter the order—even if it hasn’t shipped yet.

💳 Refund Processing

All refunds (including for canceled orders) will be issued to the original payment method. Please allow up to 14 business days for processing after we receive the returned item(s) and verify their condition.

Refunds or exchanges will only be issued:

  • After returned items have been received and inspected, or
  • Once valid tracking has been provided for the return shipment


🛠️ Warranty Policy

All Backwoods Dog gear is backed by a 1-Year Limited Warranty against manufacturing defects and hardware malfunctions, valid from the date of delivery. Proof of purchase is required.

This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear (scratches, discoloration, chewing, etc.), misuse, or damage caused by pets or external factors.

🧾 Third-Party Products

We do not make guarantees about the longevity, performance, or compatibility of third-party items. Any warranty for third-party products (e.g., tags, accessories) lies solely between the customer and the manufacturer. For questions about such items, please contact the original brand directly.

🔖 Sales & Promotions

Sales and promotional pricing are only valid during the stated promotional period.
We do not offer rain checks, price adjustments, or apply discounts retroactively to past purchases.
