1-Year Limited Warranty Policy

At Backwoods Dog, we take pride in handcrafting each product in our Ontario studio with care, durability, and adventure in mind. While we carefully inspect every item before it leaves our hands, occasional hardware or material issues can still arise.

We stand behind our craftsmanship with a 1-Year Limited Warranty, which covers manufacturing defects or malfunctions in materials and hardware—valid from the date of delivery with proof of purchase.

✅ What’s Covered Under Our 1-Year Limited Warranty:

We will repair or replace items that experience manufacturer-related issues, including:

  • Buckle malfunctions (plastic or magnetic)
  • Snap hooks failing due to spring malfunction
  • Rivet failure or missing rivet caps
  • Cracking or separation of material not caused by sun exposure, harsh chemicals, or flea & tick products

If you’re unsure whether your issue qualifies, feel free to reach out—we assess all warranty requests on a case-by-case basis.

To initiate a claim:
📧 Email us at backwoodsdogstore@gmail.com with:

  • A brief description of the issue
  • Clear photos of the damage
  • Your order number or receipt

🚫 What’s Not Covered:

Our warranty does not cover wear and tear or damage caused by use, including:

  • Normal use-related wear: scratches, scuffs, fading, stains, stretching around buckle holes, or material abrasions
  • Chewing or cuts: BioThane is strong but not chew-proof
  • Damage caused by misuse: dragging, exposure to harsh terrain, chemical cleaners, or leaving the product in extreme sun or water conditions
  • Rust:
    • We offer stainless steel or solid brass upgrades, both highly rust-resistant.
    • However, nickel-plated or black-coated hardware may rust over time, especially with heavy exposure to water, salt, or chemicals.
    • Oxidation of brass (patina) is natural and not considered a defect.

🐾 Final Notes

Warranty claims will be handled as fairly and transparently as possible. If your item is deemed eligible, we will provide a repair, replacement, or store credit at our discretion.
