I have had issues with the standard brass clasp on other leashes. Either the pin bent or broke out completely. I like the stainless steel scissor clasp on this leash. I like the colour combo I chose too, I did wine and blaze orange.
5 stars!! This is actually my second time ordering this set from Backwoods Dog, and I’ve loved it both times! My first set was for my best girl, Farah, a hound-heeler mutt, and this one is for my current foster, Guapo, my pocket bully. 🐾
I absolutely love being able to customize the colour combinations and all the little leash details. The BioThane is great for everyday use - durable, waterproof, and so easy to clean - and everything feels really well made. The collar and leash look amazing together, too!
I also have to give a huge shoutout to their customer service. They reached out to me when they noticed the hardware I selected for the collar and leash didn’t match, just to clarify what I wanted rather than assuming. I also completely forgot to update my shipping address before the order went out. When I emailed them with the correct address, they were so responsive and accommodating. Unfortunately, the package still ended up going to my old address, but they immediately arranged to send out a replacement order to the correct address at no additional cost. They were incredibly kind and helpful throughout the whole process, which I really appreciated.
At this point, I wouldn’t hesitate to order from them again. I love the quality, the customization options, and the fact that there are actual people behind the business who care about getting things right.
My only request would be to add a martingale option with a secure brass or stainless steel quick-release buckle. That would be the absolute dream!

This is our second leash from Backwoods and our third collar. We still have our first leash and it's in perfect condition (other than the bite marks from when our dog doesn't like it when it touches his back). We just wanted a spare with a new set of colours so it stands out a bit more for evening walks.

I bought a leash and collar combo and they are so cute! It feels very sturdy and well made, I love it so far!
I love this leash and collar. The details and quality make it nicer than any other leash and collar I have owned. The leash feels nice to hold and the collar is easy to buckle, a softer texture than the other waterproof leash and collars I have bought. They are easy to clean, they have been through the mud, and you can pick whatever colour you want. I did blaze orange and teal for my chocolate brown doodle.
Great in the rain and snow. Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Top workmanship.

I have nothing negative to say about the collar and leash that I received. The colour is exactly what I wanted and I love the BioThane material; it makes the leash nice and grippy as well as waterproof! The brass hardware feels sturdy and looks great with the mint and black combo (the mint looks nice and bright in the dark!). Also, SO EASY TO CLEAN!! So happy with my purchase and we love showing off our new gear!
